I would in case another family member doesn't have it you might try going through vital records you might be able to get information there also try his dr if you know who it is agian another family member might have it you can also talk to court records to see if there is any info there you would have to go to that court house

If your asking how to find out if your fathers estate is in probate you can find out through the civil courts where your father lived. You can get a copy of the will and find out who the executor and attorney are. You can also ask for a copy of the inventory which will tell you exactly what your father had when he passed away.
These copies are only a few dollars each. Many times you can request this information over the phone.

Go to the probate court where your father lived and see who was the estate administrator or executor. Get in contact with him or her and see if you can get some medical records on your father.
